Bob Burns Wins 10th Annual
Gipper Award
Manchester Activist is New Hampshire Young Republican of the Year
(MANCHESTER) The New Hampshire Young Republican Federation announced this
morning that Manchester activist Bob Burns has won the organization’s 10th
Annual Gipper Award as the Outstanding New Hampshire Young Republican of the
Year. NHYR Chair Kerry Marsh will present Burns with the award at a
Breakfast Reception on Saturday, February 27th featuring Wisconsin Congressman
Paul Ryan. Burns currently serves as the NHYR’s National Committeeman, representing the state federation nationally and helping to organize volunteers for the group’s Get Out The Vote efforts.
“Bob Burns has been leading the charge to get young people involved on behalf
of Republican candidates,” Marsh says. “Whether its winning special
elections, Mayor Ted Gatsas’s campaign, or even organizing New Hampshire
volunteers for Scott Brown, Bob has been there.” Burns also headed up the NHYR’s social media efforts, and helped organize the
Manchester Young Republicans. Burns was born in Merrimack and raised in
Bedford. He is a graduate of West High School and Keene State College.
The Gipper Award began in 2001 to spotlight outstanding political activists and
volunteers, both for their work on behalf of the New Hampshire Young Republican
Federation and GOP candidates. Burns will be the 14th recipient of the
Gipper Award.
The NHYRF will present Burns with the Gipper Award next Saturday, February 27th
at a Breakfast Reception featuring Wisconsin Congressman Paul Ryan. The
reception will be held at the New Hampshire Institute of Politics on the campus
of St. Anselm’s College, starting at 8:00am.
Young Republican National Federation Convention - Indianapolis, IN - July 8-12
The NH Young Republicans sent eight delegates and one alternate to the Young Republican National Convention this past weekend in Indianapolis, Indiana. There, these nine 18-40 year olds participated in the election of new national officers, networked with fellow YR's from over 40 states and hashed out plans for the YR's role in a Republican resurgence in the 2009 and 2010 elections.
It didn't take long for the NH Delegation to get noticed. Within hours of arriving in Indy, the NHYR's teamed up with the Maine Young Republicans to take home the award for Best Overall Booth at YR Fest, a Convention event that allows delegates to showcase their states.

At the official elections of the Young Republican National Federation, BJ Perry of Manchester was unanimously elected YRNF New England Regional Director, giving the First in the Nation Primary State another vote on the YRNF national committee. And with the appointment of Chairman Marsh as the new national Campaign Committee Chairman and NHYR National Committeeman, Bob Burns to the Awards Committee, the NHYR's carved out a commanding presence at the national level. |

- Join the NHYRs by signing up in the form on the left side of the page.
- Join you County or City Republican Committee (click here)
By joining the NHYR's or your local county or city committee, you will meet more Republicans, learn the issues and learn how you can make New Hampshire a Red State again.

Let's Face It, The Democrat-controlled NH House and Senate along with Democrat Gov. John Lynch are Ruining Our State:
- Increased 23 tax and fees in 2007-2008 Legislature that Governor John Lynch let become law
- Increased state spending by 17.5% in 2007-2008 that Governor John Lynch did nothing to stop
- Now NH has a projected $250 million deficit
- Governor John Lynch and the Democrat-controlled NH House and Senate have acted irresponsibly with their double-digit spending increases.
New Hampshire Young Republicans must get involved NOW because WE are the ones who will be paying for these bad choices for years to come. WE will be the ones to pay off the loans and bonds John Lynch has used to try and fix the deficit. We have to work in the New Hampshire economy that increased taxes and fees are onlY weakening.
I hope to receive your e-mails and questions on how you can better become involved. We are the future of our party and I challenge you to help make it a little brighter.
Sincerely,
Kerry Marsh
Chairman, New Hampshire Young Republicans
